Combs Charged With Five Felony Counts
Marie Williamson Combs of 11600 Georgia Highway 34, Franklin, Georgia was charged with 5 felony counts of Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance.
During the afternoon hours on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, law enforcement officers from the West Metro Regional Drug Enforcement Office, Heard County Sheriff’s Department and Franklin Police Department, met to discuss the results of a two month investigation regarding the sales of prescription medication. The investigation began after a concerned citizen provided detailed information to law enforcement regarding the illegal activity being conducted at 11600 Georgia Highway 34.
Over this period of time law enforcement officers conducted surveillance of the residence, observing a large amount of concerning activity. They were also successful in conducting controlled purchases of prescription medication from a female at the residence, identified as Marie Combs.
Upon serving the arrest warrant on Marie Combs, law enforcement officers conducted a search of the residence where a large amount of evidence was recovered, including Hydrocodone, Xanax, Lortab, Methadone and Clonazepam. Law enforcement officers will also use this evidence to identify and investigate the individuals who were assisting Marie Combs in obtaining these controlled substances in which she was selling.
