Drug Detecting K-9’s Search Heard High School
The Heard County High School campus was searched with drug detecting canines, during the morning of Wednesday, March 4th. This search was conducted by the Franklin Police Department, Georgia Department of Corrections Special Operations Canine Unit and staff from the Heard County High School. Law enforcement officers utilized drug detecting canines to search classrooms, restrooms, lockers, and vehicles. Everyone was pleased to announce that no illegal narcotics were located on the campus.
Chief Kevin Hannah would like to thank the Georgia Department of Corrections and the Heard County High School for their assistance and support in conducting this search. “We encourage students to notify a staff member and/or law enforcement if they suspect or have knowledge that someone is in possession of illegal narcotic or anything that could cause harm to someone”, stated Chief Hannah.
