Information From Concerned Citizen Leads to Two Drug Arrests

During the evening hours on Saturday, October 23rd, Officer Gary Morgan of the Franklin Police Department received information from a citizen who stated that several individual were selling marijuana in the parking lot of Rutledge Café, located at 130 Mary Johnson Drive.
Upon arriving in the area, Officer Morgan observed the described individuals, who immediately began acting in a suspicious manner, after they observed his presence. When he approached their location, Officer Morgan advised them of the information he had received and began interviewing the individuals. During the process he discovered eleven (11) small plastic bags of marijuana on Joshua Cooley and seven (7) small plastic bags of marijuana on Adrian Jackson. Both individuals were immediately taken into custody. The other individuals were released, after a consensual search was conducted, which was negative for illegal contraband.
Chief Hannah would like to personally thank the concerned citizen who contacted Officer Morgan with this valuable information. He encourages citizens to contact their local law enforcement agency to report any suspicious activity they observe.
Joshua Cooley of 88 Pine Grove Circle, Newnan Georgia was charged, with felony possession of marijuana and felony possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
Adrian Jackson of 654 Doctor Fisher Road, Franklin Georgia was charged, with felony possession of marijuana and felony possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
